We’re running the beach combing section of this year’s Hengistbury Head BioBlitz! Join us from 15:00 to 17:00 to survey the beach for as many species as we can find!
Become a wildlife explorer for a day and discover what’s living right on your doorstep by joining in at your local BioBlitz event. Our team of experienced naturalists and wildlife watchers need your help to find and identify as many different species of birds, bugs, plants and beasties as we can before the clock runs out. Just like a real scientific expedition, everything we find will be documented and passed on to local and national databases that monitor our local wildlife. With interactive activities for kids, grown-ups, beginners and experts alike there is something for everyone at a BioBlitz.
At The Great Wildlife Exploration you can explore the amazing Hengistbury Head as we go looking under rocks, up trees, in ponds, on the beach, up in the sky and in the undergrowth for as much wildlife as we can find.
Drop in and see us on the day or see our programme when it appears on our Facebook page, for some amazing activities including:
Dawn bird walk, beach combing, arts and crafts, bug hunting, mammal trapping, searching for bats and natterjack toads and moth trapping!
